CJI’s staff is proficient in various regulatory support and liaison services involving the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ, formerly the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission), Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS, formerly Texas Department of Health), and other state agencies, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and local authorities. The CJI staff is knowledgeable in the environmental regulations under RCRA, Superfund, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and Texas Solid Waste Disposal Act. The staff's knowledge of these regulations, combined with its technical expertise and familiarity with regulatory agency infrastructure, allows CJI to successfully represent the client in delicate negotiations with agency staff.
CJI staff actively review newly proposed and finalized state and federal regulations to evaluate potential impacts to our clients. We can develop comments regarding proposed regulations and submit them to the applicable regulatory agency to ensure that our clients’ interests are represented during the rule-making process. In addition, CJI is adept at working complex environmental projects through the TCEQ under multiple regulatory programs with differing requirements and personnel, and has considerable experience in identifying and exploring innovative approaches to satisfy various regulatory concerns within real-world constraints. Our understanding of our client’s needs, the applicable regulations, and the operation of the regulatory agencies greatly enhances the technical services CJI provides in all other environmental service areas.
